Question from Geofrey:
Please I request the wedding expert to suggest to me a colour I can use for my wedding. We are both black in complexion. Thank you.
Answer from Bridal Expert Angela:
Hi Geofrey, and congratulations on your upcoming wedding. There are a lot of things to take into consideration when choosing your wedding colours. If you are having a formal wedding, then you will have black and white. If you are having an informal or contemporary wedding, you have a greater choice of colour.
What colours do you like? What colours look good on you? Look at your reception site. What colours are there? What colour table linens do they have available?
In a formal wedding, the bride and groom usually are in black and white, but the bridal party can have other colours. If you are having a contemporary wedding, there are many beautiful wedding gowns in a large selection of colours. The cumberbund and tie can be in a matching colour to the bride’s gown if you are choosing colours.
I hope this gives you some ideas. If you have more details, I could give you a more detailed answer. Feel free to add comments below, and I will respond.

Hi,
I really want Burnt Orange in my colour scheme but I’m not sure what colour will go well with it seeing that it is such a “wow” colour. I would like it to be the accent on my bridesmaids dresses and I am not sure how to use it when decorating the hall or what colour it will go well with. Any suggestions??
Thanks In Advance
hi,
my wedding is in october, and my colour is baby yellow.
what other colour can i combine the baby yellow with.
both of us are black in complexion.
thanks
Hi, By saying baby yellow, I assume you mean a lighter shade of yellow. The trick is that whatever colours you choose should all be the same ‘shade’ or tonal quality. You don’t want a pale colour and bright colour together. They should all be pale or all bright colours.
As for what goes with yellow, you can go with various shades of yellow.
In addition, you could choose yellow, lime green, and peachy-orange. Another choice would be mauve. Mauve and yellow are a classic combination.
If you wanted to be bold, yellow, turquoise and orange would work really well together.

Hi Rebeka.
Burnt orange is a great colour for a wedding. Turquoise blue is the complementary colour of burnt orange. Make sure the undertones are complementary or the same. Some colours have a grey undertone to them that “muddies” them, so all the colours you choose should have that same undertone.
Other colours that go with burnt orange are dark peach, and reds. Yellows and mauves also go with burnt orange.
Of course your neutral colours of white, brown, and black will go with burnt orange. Orange and brown are a classic combination, similar to black and white.
This video I made on how to choose your wedding colours will help you.
Good luck and feel free to share your choice.
