Gifts to guests, otherwise known as wedding favors, are given to guests as a thank you for attending the wedding. What you give should be an expression of you, and if incense is a true expression of you, then that is what you should do.

When it comes to weddings, you are hosting a party, and the comfort of your guests is your #1 consideration. Will your guests appreciate incense? In some cultures, incense is a logical, natural gift. In other cultures, guests might not even know what to do with it! You know your guests best, and know what would be the right thing for them.

Having a scent lingering is very nice, but be aware that there are those who are allergic to perfume and other scents and may not appreciate an strong scent. So, as long as it is a lingering scent, it should be acceptable. Again, it is the comfort of your guests that come first.

I have seen paper lanterns on the ceiling both ways—being lit from inside, and hanging without being lit. Both work. If you can get some of the paper lanterns with lights inside, it will look nicer. But really, most people will not notice. It reallly depends upon the lighting in the rest of the room.

I suggest you ask at the reception site to see what they have to say. They are the experts on their location and know what works best. In fact, they may have done paper lanterns there and know exactly how to do it. Ask them.

How nice that you aren’t afraid of colour! So many people are. I think your choice of dress is fine. It has the black lace/polka dot overdress which will differentiate the colour sufficiently from what the bridal party is wearing. If you are really unsure, and don’t want to make waves with the bride, show her the dress and see how she feels about it.

If you are having a garden wedding, well I would say that would be your theme. Flowers and more flowers will make your garden theme come alive. If you are looking for garden wedding favors to accent your theme, here are some great ideas. AND, some of them can also be used to decorate your tables to enhance that garden theme.

As for wedding dresses, there are many designers to choose from, and I really can’t think of just one or two dresses to recommend. Just google wedding dresses and you will find all kinds of options. I would like to say that you can get dresses with sleeves, but you also have the option of a sleeveless dress with a long sleeve lace or silk jacket that can be removed for the reception.

The ball gown or mermaid dress both work very well with an hourglass figure—in fact, almost every style looks great on an hour glass figure. Some ball gowns are REALLY big on the bottom, and others are “normal”. When you try it on you will know. Choose one that makes you look and feel great. If you aren’t sure, invite a friend or relative with great taste in clothing to come along with you to help you shop.
